Hi! I am Pasquale Semeraro, and today I talk about the heat insulating paints.

The heat insulating paints, also known as anti – condensation paints, are products based on acrylic or vinyl resins, fine pigments, special anti – mould and anti – algae additives, that are dissolved in water.

Their main function, as well as the most known, is to be the most simple and the most effective solution, that can be applied to the walls of the houses, in order to stop the condensation, that is the transition from the gaseous phase to the liquid phase of water vapour.

The water vapour, that is present in the room, condenses in contact with the cold walls forming the classic droplets, suitable for all, that will become first moisture and then mould.

Thanks to the low thermal conductivity that distinguishes the heat insulating products, they prevent the heat exchange between the surfaces of the walls and those of the room, blocking the formation of condensation.

Unlike the traditional products, the heat insulating or anti – condensation paints contain within itself some microscopic hollow glass spheres.

They have a rounded shape and they are empty within; this particular aspect (logically suitable only with the microscope) allows, once the product is applied on the surface, to operate as the double pane of a thermal break window, retaining the heat present in the environment without losing it outside.

This phenomenon allows the heating of the paint, avoiding in this way the formation of condensation and mould, but by increasing the wellness and the ENERGY CONSERVATION, since it reduces automatically the need to use the heating system.

Furthermore, the heat insulating paints are also useful during the summer because they prevent the walls from overheating by maintaining the inner environments at lower temperatures. As a result, also in this period, these products can reduce energy costs, since the air conditioners can be used much less.

Even if at the time of purchase the price of these products may seem slightly more expensive than the traditional paints, this cost is widely covered over the years. Or rather, thanks to the energy conservation obtained, you can enjoy some small desire.

A very important element is that the application of these products is simple as that of a normal paint; so we don’t use any particular technique, but it is necessary only good will and the desire to a healthier and more tempered environment where we live.

Another fantastic element, instead of what we commonly think, is that you can choose the color that you like more, and not necessarily the white as the tradition wants.
