First of all, you need to know that in developing countries, energy use in the civil sector for heating or cooling homes or factories accounts for half of the total energy consumption.

From some studies it has been found that energy consumption only for cooling for all civil environments, are constantly growing, especially in those countries characterized by hot and humid climatic conditions, and our BEAUTIFUL Italy and all Mediterranean populations are among them.

Unfortunately, the increasing demand for electricity for cooling has led manufacturing companies to increase the burning of fossil fuels and consequently the levels of pollution, and also increasing the problems related to the quality of the air we breathe.

Climate change as well as in the rest of the world also in our country has led to an increased demand for electricity for cooling our civil or industrial environments, also leading to increased costs for us and especially contributing to increased pollution levels.

This series of situations that I explained led me to think that something I too could do to try to improve our comfort conditions, without necessarily losing out on our health.

It is true that many of my colleagues had begun to create exterior paints that would improve the energy ratings of homes, and thus lower consumption, but something was still not completely clear to me.

In fact, in February 2009, the EU-COOL ROOFS COUNCIL was founded with the intention of creating an Action Plan to identify performance roofs, and to support research in reducing heating and cooling consumption in the various European countries, and from here on, the evolution of exterior paints has been steadily developing.

Yes!!! but still until a few months ago I felt that there was something else that could still be improved.

It will be due to a paternal and protective sense that explodes in you when you have 2 young children.

It will be due to the fact that becoming a father I absolutely care more about my children’s health than my own.

It may be due to the constant reports in the various media about the state of degradation we are taking our planet to.

Or maybe it’s the combination of all these things that pushed me to look for in my own small way, a solution to improve in some way, the well-being and health of my children and those who will be the future generations; so much so that for this in my laboratory we decided to put in place a product that could help to improve yes the thermal conditions but at the same time lower the levels of pollution, and even more so that it would be as efficient as possible in eliminating those particulate slags that are deposited on the facades of our homes, and thus a double action against pollution.

Thus was born ECOMIRROR, what I call the revolutionary Eco-thermal-reflective-self-cleaning paint, which falls under the specific program developed EU-CRC, that is, under the category of those special “Cool Roof” products.

Due to its characteristic as a thermo-reflective product, ECOMIRROR reduces heat absorption due to the impact of the sun’s rays on both the solar slab and facades, thus reducing energy consumption due to the use of air conditioners during hot periods, and the use of heat pumps or heating systems during cold periods.

The application of ECOMIRROR allows for broad solar reflectance and high values in the area of thermal infrared.

A substrate coated with a traditional paint or coating has a solar reflectance that can vary in percentage from 5 to 15 percent, absorbing 85 to 95 percent of solar energy.

With the application of ECOMIRROR, more than 80% solar reflectivity and 20% less absorption of energy is achieved and transferred to the home.
